Nine days of free events at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts!
The second annual presentation of UCF Celebrates the Arts features the art and performances of more than 1,000 university students and 100 faculty members.
Two more days of events have been added to this year’s festival, including performances under the direction of renowned composers Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, and more than 150 films), and Patrick Doyle (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Bridget Jones’s Diary, and more than 45 other films).
The festival showcases the talents of the university’s artists and practitioners in theatre, dance, orchestra, choirs, big band, chamber music, cabaret, concert bands, opera, visual arts, studio art, gaming, animation, photography and film. There’s even a concert that organizers think may be the first of its kind: a presentation geared exclusively for expectant parents.

Patrick Doyle's "Music of Shakespeare"
Patrick Doyle presents his greatest works as the composer for Kenneth Branagh’s Shakespeare movies (Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, Henry V, and more). Conducted by acclaimed maestro James Shearman (Brave, Thor, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), the UCF Orchestra and choir perform songs and underscores from the best scenes in the films with actors from Prague Shakespeare Company and Orlando Shakespeare Theater playing the roles.

About the Festival
UCF Celebrates the Arts, a festival showcasing creativity, innovation and collaboration from Orlando’s hometown university, occurs annually at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in April. The event is hosted by the UCF College of Arts and Humanities and features the faculty and students from the School of Performing Arts and the School of Visual Arts and Design, as well as work from the humanities departments and other units from around the university. Partnership, one of UCF’s long-standing values, is brought front-and-center at UCF Celebrates the Arts, with many events showcasing the collaborative nature of the university and demonstrating how UCF is both in and of the Central Florida community.
