Float, glide and soar to this multisensory story experience developed specifically for very young audiences (0-6 years of age) and their grown-ups! Join a pig named Avery and his friends on the farm as they explore what it means to fly through elements of play, discovery, whimsical movement and a few surprises along the way!

What to Expect at a Theatre for the Very Young Show:
Exciting Interaction! Be prepared to talk to the actors, join in song and dance, and touch or use various objects! There are intentionally no seats for the children to sit in because we want them to stand, move and engage with the actors as the show unfolds! Seats will be available for adults.

A Feast for the Senses! Colorful props to see and touch. Familiar melodies or new sounds to hear. And possibly even something interesting to smell. The children will be guided and encouraged to explore the theatre experience with their senses.

Theatre that Speaks the Language of Little Ones! You wouldn’t expect a toddler to be able to follow a story, so we don’t either! Theatre for the Very Young focuses on creating experiences that reflect how toddlers and munchkins take in the world around them – moment-by-moment!

CREATOR BIO

Maria Katsadouros is thrilled to watch When Pigs Fly take flight as a part of UCF Celebrates the Arts! The current Education Coordinator for Orlando Repertory Theatre, Maria holds an MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences from the University of Central Florida and a BA in Theatre and Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The past six years have brought Maria opportunities to teach, perform, and share her love for young people internationally and throughout the U.S. Her credits as a teaching artist include Flat Rock Playhouse (Flat Rock, NC), The Coterie (Kansas City, MO), La Isla Bonita (San Pedro, Belize), and Orlando Repertory Theatre. Many thanks to the cast and creative team of When Pigs Fly for continuing to share whose faith, talent, and love for young people, proved to ignite this story of exploration and discovery in a way that exceeded wildest expectations.
