FREE! UCF Pegasus Professor Luis Martínez-Fernández delivers a dynamic, informative and entertaining audiovisual presentation that offers a flash course in Caribbean history as told by the region’s statues.

While inanimate objects, statues have lives of their own and some actually perish as the result of neglect, revolution or resistance. This presentation uses around 20 Caribbean statues as windows to the region’s most dramatic realities: colonialism and slavery and the struggles for freedom and nationhood.
